Ways to Cleanse and Protect Your Energy

Protecting your energy is very important and it's not only about protecting your physical energy. Protecting and cleansing your energy means containing and managing the energy that makes up your emotional, mental, physical and spiritual self. Energy is changing constantly by thoughts, emotions, and interactions with people in our lives, strangers and the world as well. Protecting your energy means bringing balance in your life through the spirit. Protecting your energy could mean the difference between a happy life and a struggle full and stressful life.

What do you do to protect your energy?

Maybe you aren’t sure of what you can do to protect your energy. Don’t worry, you came to the right place. The intention here is to guide you on how you can bring alignment, a sense of worth, balance and empowerment in your life.

  • Smudging with herbs

  • Different herbs can be used to cleanse your energy. White sage, black sage, cedar, Palo Santo, blue sage, desert sage, lavender, bay leaves, rosemary, or yerba Santa are some of the herbs used for smudging/ herb burning rituals. Many herbs for burning come from many different cultures, all with different uses and benefits. If you suspect your energy is getting contaminated with negative energy, smudging goes a long way in restoring it and bringing on a fresh start while also reaping the harvest of the other benefits burning herbs may offer.

  • The power of salt

Draw in positive energy with bath meditation and chakra balancing. There are different types of salts such as pink salt, Epsom salt and dead sea salt. These salts are well known for their energy cleansing potential. Salt is incredibly powerful and you find that taking a bath in sea salt or pink salt goes a long way. Bath ritual meditation and chakra balancing baths are used to help create a "pause" in routine, which changes your focus which can help change your perception of a situation. Its recommended to use only pure organic salts for any bath including bath time meditation as well as taking a moment to clear your mind of the negatives and focus on the positives.

  • Earthing

  • If you are in doubt and your energy is still not in check, remove your shoes, squat down and put your arms on the earth. While you do this, affirm “Mother earth, am giving you back this energy, please absorb it on my behalf”. Release all this negative energy to the earth.

  • Get rid of toxic relationships

With toxic relationships, the negative energy on other people is absorbed into our bodies as well. We tend to take on other people’s energy because we feel the urge to protect them, make them happy and relieve some of their burdens. This leaves you with a lot of pressure in your chest leaving you feeling depressed, fatigued and anxious. Getting rid of toxic relationships isn’t an option when it comes to cleansing and protecting your energy.

When you let go of toxic relationships, the negative energy the toxic people in your life unleash on you stops. This keeps your energy in check and helps balance all of your chakras.

  • Sound cleansing

The power of sound is pretty obvious. For those who doubt, try sleeping to the sound of screeching and sirens as compared to the soothing sound of babbling brook. Nature provides gentle melodies certain to make a better lullaby as compared to most sounds. Embracing the power of sound helps when you are stressed out. Soothing sounds quell your anxiety and there are specific frequencies that have a calming and clearing effect on the energy around you. Protecting your energy through sound is not new and was used in meditation bringing harmony in the spirit.

  • Cleanse your space

Space clearing helps wash away negative energy leaving the room feeling clear, light and positive. You can use crystals to cleanse your space and clear them often or white sage as well. You can also open the window to let in positive energy from nature. The negative energy then flies away and is cleared by the wind.

If your home is clutter filled, it doesn’t matter how long you sage the room but you are left feeling cluttered and drained. Release and let go of the stuff you don’t need in your home. this is effective as it leaves a refreshing and cleansed feeling in your home.

Your energy is drastically affected by negative emotions, stress, toxic relationships and more. Cleansing and protecting your energy is necessary and it can mean the difference between a happy life and a sad and stressful one. The balance of energy in the body brings about happiness, contentment, and a happy life in general. Try as much as possible to set boundaries with people who negatively affect your energy. When you want to spend time with people who might project some of their stuff on you, bubble wrap yourself energetically. Whatever these people say, it bounces off your bubble and bounces back to them.
